LO2: SWOT analysis

Strengths:

The strength of this animation is that it is entertaining and informative for the audience (kids). Also, this animation follows the concept of wikinomics, such as collaboration. Parents will, therefore, allow their children to watch the show because of the children-friendly content the animation provides them. As this animation is digitally drawn, releasing the product on time and meeting the milestones is easier.

The moral of my story is "Don't judge anyone by their appearance" and "Be kind and help the need in whatever way  you can". The moral behind the story is also a strength of my animation as it helps instill values that contribute to their moral development and shape their understanding of the world around them. It helps provide opportunities for parents to have meaningful conversations with their children about the messages in the animation. It teaches kids the necessary values and principles in a fun and engaging way.

Being a prosumer is a strength because I can produce animation according to my visions without anyone else's influence. Creating an animation as a prosumer allows me to interact directly with the audience, receive feedback and build a loyal fanbase. Most kids use an iPad to access entertainment, which makes it easy for them to access my animation.

A clear target audience is a strength because it allows me to tailor the content to suit their preferences and needs. It also helps communicate my message effectively. It enables me to use language, humor, and visuals that connect with the audience on a deeper level.

Applying the Dennis Mquail theory and following the three factors, Surveillance, correlation and entertainment is a strength. In reference to the Surveillance aspect, the audience can connect and relate with the little things the friends, Yunoo and Kuro do and share like walking together in a park. Correlation deals with interpreting information and making sense of it. In my animation, I achieved correlation by presenting complex ideas or narratives in a way that is easy for the audience to understand and relate to, for example, the message behind the animation: "Don't judge a book by its cover".  And also mama duck's love for her baby is a reflection of our own behavior. The entertainment aspect is evident in the playful and engaging storytelling style, the characters cute and cuddly appearance, which aims to entertain and delight the audience, making it a choice for people looking for a way to relax and distress.

Weaknesses:

My animation focus on simple interactions in life, which can limit complex plot development and character growth. The lack of a coherent storyline or complex character development may hinder its appeal to older audiences

My animation does not have diverse characters, which may limit their appeal to diverse audiences.

As Animation industry is very competitive, With the familiar style and plot it is challenging to make a break in the market.

Relying heavily on the characters adorable appearance and mannerisms may not appeal to young boys.

My animation longevity can be affected due to having a few loyal customers and retaining existing customers.

People might not find my animation and its characters original as this style of animation has already been created.

Opportunities:

Because this animation style resembles other animation shows like Molang, I can collaborate and partnerships with the other popular brands to increase exposure and reach new audiences.

Being a prosumer allows me to connect with other animators, industry professionals, and potential collaborators. Networking opens up more doors to opportunities, feedback, and mentorship that further enhance my skills and career prospects.

Based on my animation educational content could be created for children, such as videos on friendship, empathy, and animal welfare. Also, It can be turned into a book with bright and colorful illustrations for young children.

My animation have the potential to reach global audience through translation and localization.

My animation could be expanded into other forms of media, such as feature films, animated shorts, television series, or video games. My animation can be turned into bedtime series., as it connects to more younger children.

With my animation, I can collaborate with other animators with similar style and create a crossover episodes. Thereby, introduce new characters, explore different storylines, or simply provide a fun and entertaining break for viewers.

By developing into other media forms I can create my own logo and brand and expand into franchise.

Threats:

My animation color pallet blends too easily with other animation styles, which may lead to my animation being accused of copyright infringement.

With constantly changing audience preferences and their perception towards animation can pose a challenge to adapt and produce content that resonates with them.

With the evolvement of various  animation software and tools  that can produce do it yourself animation, the demand for outsourced animation might reduce.

Animation projects can take longer than expected, and the production cost can go very high, leading to financial issues

In the ever changing world of entertainment, new animated characters and franchises can gain popularity, diverting the attention and interest of audience. this can pose a threat to my animation as it may face competition for viewership and engagement.

My animation production has limited staff and resources, which is a threat, affecting the animation's time constraint and output.
